**Warning to Startups: Think Twice Before Using Stripe!** Our experience with Stripe through CardFly Technologies has been extremely disappointing. They blocked our account and held approximately AED 10,000, claiming our sales were not genuine, even though customers had completed KYC verification before making purchases. Stripe then informed us that the payments would be refunded to customers. For a startup, having your funds frozen and your business transactions questioned like this is a serious risk. You can invest your time, money, and resources into building your business, only to find yourself dealing with frozen funds and uncertainty over your cash flow. **My advice to other founders: Please don't depend entirely on Stripe. It's too risky for your business if you cannot afford unexpected account restrictions and frozen funds.** Explore other direct payment processing providers with transparent policies, reliable support, and terms that suit your business model. Do your due diligence before choosing a payment provider. Your business deserves a partner you can trust, not another operational risk.
We lost business simply because Stripe paused our account after we didn't click a button to reconfirm information that had already been on file and hadn't changed!
I have had a very bad experience with Stripe and am extremely disappointed with how they have handled our case. A client reversed a payment of $2,000 after we had completed the work under a signed contract. Despite the contractual agreement and the work already being delivered, Stripe processed the refund without adequately informing us or giving us a fair opportunity to resolve the dispute. To make matters worse, Stripe deducted the amount from our balance, retained approximately $700 in reserves, shut down our payment processing capabilities, and is now demanding that we pay the negative balance. By disabling our payment gateways, they have also removed our ability to continue processing payments and use incoming funds to manage the outstanding balance. What makes this experience particularly disappointing is that we have processed approximately $150,000 in payments through Stripe and paid around 6% in fees and commissions over our relationship with them. Despite the significant business we have brought to the platform, we received little support when we needed it most. Payment disputes are a reality of doing business, but payment processors should provide transparency, fair communication, and a reasonable opportunity for merchants to present evidence before making decisions that can seriously affect their businesses. My experience raises serious concerns about Stripe’s dispute handling, transparency, and treatment of small businesses and startups. It feels deeply unfair for a merchant to deliver contracted work, lose the payment, have payment processing shut down, and then be pressured to pay a negative balance without what we consider a fair resolution process. I understand that payment processors must manage financial risk, but that should not come at the expense of treating legitimate merchants fairly. After processing $150,000 through Stripe, I expected much better communication, support, and consideration. I would strongly encourage other small businesses and startups to carefully evaluate Stripe’s dispute policies, reserve practices, and account termination procedures before relying on it as their primary payment processor.
this company i guess takes the downfall they are issuing refunds while i fullfilled all orders for almost a year now and they just decided to disable temporary my account and i also lost payout of arround 85-90 euros and i even got all evidence from all my customer getting their services normally on my tik tok chats
I have 2 stripe accounts. I accidentally started a new one forgetting I had another one. I have uploaded my bank account matching the account they have on file countless times and they have still frozen both accounts thus I cannot access the funds with no one to call and no response from customer service.
Worst service ever! There automated system just suspended my account in two days of creation. No support nothing. I bet once an alternative to stripe arrives no body will use to is company.
I use Bluevine, who are awesome and I've left 5 stars, for my business account. They have a partnership with Stripe to generate payment links and send invoices directly from my account, in theory this streamlines the service and puts the money in my account quickly. After a week and a half in business my account was put on hold for review due to concerns over increased risk of refund if payment is received before a product is given. I work as a independent contractor and I am only paid upon completion of services, the customer physically sees the work and pays. And after asking for a reason and trying to provide context and clarity and after HOURS spent trying to talk with their email support and AI chat, and NOT A SINGLE HUMAN SPOKE TO ME, THEY CLOSED MY ACCOUNT AND ARE HOLDING ALMOST TWELVE-THOUSAND DOLLARS FROM ME! I don't know what other steps I can take, this is the position that these soulless corporations put us in, but I'll put my experience into the void so maybe just one person dodges this bullet. Or to be lost in the ocean of complaints from faceless numbers never to have any meaning than the time it took to write this.
My funds are being withheld for proof of ownership and despite sending multiple documents and taking over ownership of the business a long time ago still no joy. They say 24hrs for there response and so far it is going on since Monday. Has anyone else had this experience and also what other providers did people change to????
Link will mask your ACH bank information to ending with 0000. Processors view this as a credit card. You will be charged a credit card fee. Without knowing it. No warning, it is just taken out of your bank. Business owners building a new payment app, who are not tech savvy, do not understand. Customers complain to the business but it is the app. Why do processors not recognize Link's masking number? It is an extreme hassle. Businesses with apps are facing Federal violations. Customers have to file disputes. Totally unnecessary stress and emotional draining experience. Link is associated with Stripe. Stripe is a payment processor. It seems like fraud. Stripe, a processor that collects fees, has created a wallet that turns your ACH information into a credit card in order to collect fees.
